A woman is sought in marriage

Narrated Abu Huraira, The Prophet (ﷺ) said ¹ :

A woman is sought in marriage for four reasons, i.e., wealth, family social status, beauty and religion. So you should marry the religious woman (otherwise) you will be a losers.

Getting married is one of the things every Muslim should look forward to. Not only is finding a spouse a worldly achievement it also completes one’s faith. Marriage is ibadah and it nature of human. It more than meeting a man and a women but it about sharing life with his partner for redha of Allah SWT.

Our Prophet SAW has clearly made an emphasis on deen as the one quality that supersedes all other qualities. That is not to say one should not look for a spouse with other attributes like beauty, status or financial, it just means that deen (religion) should be main focus.
